Ipod Touch Charger Cord slightly broken?

So on my ipod touch charger cord, right under where you connect it, the rubber is slightly ripped. exposing some of the metal inside. and i think a tiny bit of metal has also come out. is it still good to use? or do i have to buy a new one? thanks.

It’s still usable but may be unsafe. There might be a short circuit or something which can cause a fire.

It’s best to get a new one.
